UK startup Causal raises $4.2M to kill Excel with a better number-crunching app

Excel and Google Sheets is not ‘number crunching’ in full fledged. UK startup Casual hopes solving this issue and raised $4.2 million funding for Accel from his reputed clients Coatue, Passion Capital, Verissimo Ventures, Naval Ravikant, Varadh Jain and others. Casual’s funding is going up to $5.5 million, and company was planning to launche Product Hunt in next month and develop the engineering workforce.

Despite the fact that spreadsheets are crucial for general business operations, there are many usage cases for sales teams, finance teams, etc., all of which are quite different. Efficiency hopes to address this with a more data-driven, collaborative approach.

Taimur Abdaal and Lukas Koebis has founded Causal in 2019 for giving an option of Excel. Working on spreadsheet’s formulas and make it simple as reading english. Which is “100x fever formulas” of Casual compare as Excel. “Every team in the company should be involved in business planning and forecasting, but financing often causes problems in spreadsheets,” says CEO and co-founder Timur Abdal.

“Abdal said, We really started because we saw how hard it is to actually work with numbers and spreadsheets,”. We have these mysterious formulas that are really hard to understand so 80% of the spreadsheets have with errors. Very few companies are using spreadsheets. We are trying to find a way out of it. We are a small team in the top 5. We are working towards our goal. Whose fruit we shall surely receive.
